
Our advisory committee members are a group of industry professionals who volunteer their knowledge, time, and experience to encourage and empower singer-songwriters around the world. The committee is responsible for the selection of singer-songwriters that will perform in the upcoming Singacoustic performances.
Jimmy Lyons
Jimmy Lyons is a wicked Guitar player who loves funk. A singer songwriter and one of the coolest cats known to humanity. A multi instrumentalist and super talented recording artist/engineer and a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) wizard. Jimmy tough recording classes for many years and enjoys playing music with a variety of bands in the San Francisco Bay Area

Scott Miller
Scott Miller began his audio career cutting analog tape in the radio production room at KVHS in Concord in 1989. His Sound design and editorial for Film, TV and Video Games includes work at Studio Trilogy, Skywalker Sound, American Zoetrope, Transmedia and Polarity Post. Film work has been screened or won awards at Cannes, Sundance, San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles/AFI International Film Festivals. Television work has shown on ABC, PBS, A&E, Lifetime, National Geographic and the History Channel. He has worked on major video game titles from Sony, KOEI and Sierra, including performing several voices in the video game “Dynasty Warrior 3”. Music projects for film scores and commercial release include recordings at 25th Street Recording, Dolby Labs, Studio Trilogy and others.

Alex Guiness
Alex Guiness is an accomplished filmmaker, singer-songwriter, musician, composer, audio engineer, recording artist, voice-over artist, educator, and multi-talented San Francisco Bay Area favorite. Alex contributes his vast knowledge of music composition as a great member of our group of wicked team of singer-songwriters.


Genesis Fermin
Genesis Fermin (they/them) is a gardener and multifaceted artist who cultivates lush fruits and soul-illuminating songs. Their music documents the ache of longing, vivid childhood memories, and a life lived against the grain, blurring every boundary. Genesis grows music and food in the Bay Area, and is the co-founder of the I Need Space Queer Music Festival, founded to support a diverse, international array of queer artists during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their debut album, Genesis Fermin, was released in 2021 and produced by Gina Villalobos, and the “gentle acoustic rhythms” on this album are described by Americana UK as“smartly written, [with] a strong vocal.”

Diana Alvarez
An expansive multimedia artist and educator, Doctora Xingona’s music, poetry, performances, films, and gatherings center on transcendence, kinship, and the co-liberation and nourishment of queer, trans, and gender expansive artists of color. A creator/composer behind A Xicanx Ritual Opera, a multimedia living performance altar for queer and trans artists of color to convene and manifest futures. Quiero Volver was awarded the Public Art for Spatial Justice Award from the New England Foundation for the Arts in 2020 and is supported by Massachusetts Local Cultural Council Grants in 2022. Funds raised by Quiero Volver performances support the BridgeSong Fund, an emergency relief program for women, nonbinary, and trans musicians of color founded by Doctora Xingona in collaboration with the Institute for the Musical Arts (Goshen, MA).www.diana-alvarez.com
